Returning to Life After Stay-at-Home Guidelines

Returning to Life After Stay-at-Home Guidelines

We are all facing unprecedented times throughout the United States and world-wide. Starting as early as March, many of us faced stay-at-home orders or guidelines in our states. With these orders came different routines for all of us. Some of you may be essential workers, while others may be caring for an elderly family member, navigating online schooling for your children, or simply trying to keep to a healthy sense of “normalcy” through this all. It is our sincere hope here at DrVita that all of you have remained healthy and well through these trying times, and as states begin to reopen we prepare for our lives to shift yet again as we transition back into our routines. Continue reading to see our top tips for how to healthfully return to life after stay-at-home orders.*

Get Ready for a New Routine

As states continue to re-open at various rates, we may be facing different definitions of “normal,” at least for a while. As we gear up to return to work as permitted, try to start a healthy, scheduled routine, such as waking and sleeping at a scheduled time. Keeping a consistent sleep schedule helps promote healthy energy levels, mood, mental performance and can even support immune health by promoting general wellness.* Check out our supplements to support energy and restful sleep.*

Encourage Exercise and Healthy Habits

With the closure of gyms over the last three months, many of us have taken to at-home exercises during shutdown. Try to continue these healthy habits and aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise daily, whether you’re continuing an at-home workout routine, returning to a gym or starting a new exercise regimen. Regular exercise supports many systems throughout the body, including healthy energy levels, restful sleep, digestive support and inflammatory health.* Try these supplements to support fitness and exercise endurance.*

Eat a Healthy Diet

We always encourage a healthy, well-rounded diet. While many of us may have increased our time in the kitchen, the truth is that these unique circumstances have all impacted us differently. Some of us may be excited to start eating at our favorite local spots again as they re-open, while some of us will continue to embrace our inner-chefs at home. There’s no right or wrong answer, but aim for healthy, well-rounded food choices as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle. A healthy diet can support gastrointestinal health, healthy weight management, restful sleep, mood health and so much more.* Returning to work? Try meal-prepping to help make easy food choices readily available as well as clear up your free time. Try supplementing a healthy diet with Nature’s Lab Six Daily or One Daily for a variety of essential nutrients, minerals, superfoods and more.*

Check in with your Mental Wellbeing

It’s important to take time to check in with your mood and wellbeing as we transition out of stay-at-home orders. While many of us may be excited to return to normal life, some may be apprehensive, whether it’s anxiety or stress due to upcoming workloads, changes in social distancing, or simply having a little more on your plate than normal. As the body perceives stress, the adrenal glands make and release a hormone called cortisol. Normal levels are released when you wake up in the morning or exercise to help support blood pressure health, however long-term stress and increased levels of stress may lead to fatigue, anxiety, gastrointestinal problems and decreased immune health.* Reduce stress levels by setting healthy limitations, and don’t be afraid to say no and take time for self-care and activities you enjoy, such as reading, meditating, gardening or another favorite hobby.
